Sliding Glass Door Repair And Installation
Featuring our flagship service: Stuck Door – our signature sliding glass door repair company and the unique combination of skill and knowledge that launched it all waaaaaaaaaay back in 1988. With over 35 years experience in patio door repair and installation, there is absolutely nothing we do not know about sliding glass doors. If others tell you it cannot be done, make us your last stop because we guarantee we can solve your door problems.
Roller replacement: This is the most common door repair we do and not a business day goes by that we do not replace rollers on sliding doors. If you cannot currently open your door with one finger, WE are the company you want to call. We are the undisputed experts in this field and it’s likely that you came to this website as a referral from another person that told you the same thing. We very much enjoy that reputation!
Correct roller replacement is the skill that makes us stand out from the rest. If just anyone could throw rollers at a glass door and make it work, there wouldn’t have been any need for us in the last 30+ years, but luckily it’s a bit more complicated than that. Many doors are tight inside the frame and are difficult or dangerous to remove – some doors are so old that they don’t make the original parts any longer – or your door may even have a strange ailment from the previous owner. Whatever the case, we are serious about fixing it correctly when we show up to your home. Don’t chance your valuable time to someone that doesn’t love fixing doors and comes prepared to do it! Save yourself the headache of watching them pack up and drive to a hardware store to get the parts they need. Spare yourself the inevitable phone call when they tell you they couldn’t find the old parts after all. In the end they are going to tell you to call us anyway. Trust us, we’ve heard this story repeated for years. We will get it done right, the first time.

Track maintenance: If your sliding glass door has been neglected for an extended time (the previous owner’s fault, of course) it’s possible that you may require some track assistance. If you kneel down by your track and take a good look, you will notice that the doors are rolling back and forth on what is called a door “bead” or “runner” that sticks up – it has kind of a tiny mushroom shape look to it. If this is nice and level, all you will require is our general roller replacement and custom alignment process. However, if you see any roller coaster looking rises and falls (wavy bumps!) in those beads it’s likely you will need one of two possible track maintenance parts we can add to your service request at additional cost.
If the wavy bumps are relatively minor, we come equipped to place a stainless steel track “cap” on top of the existing bumpy runner that snaps over your current bad track and returns the door bead to it’s prior glory. It also helps to make it a slightly smoother and quieter operation of the door panel. This works on 90% of patio doors and is usually the right fix for the problem, BUT….
There are circumstances where this problem has been neglected for too long and after years of grinding the track down, the wavy bumps have become too large for the stainless steel cap to hold up. Glass patio doors can be extremely heavy and if the divots in the track are too large, the weight will crush the typical track cap back into the wavy bump shape, rendering the cap useless. In those cases we have to surgically remove the old bead and replace it entirely with a new heavy duty stainless steel A-frame style track. We come prepared to do either of these modifications!
Handles and Locks: Luckily for Central Florida homeowners, there really are not that many different choices for handles and locks for your sliding glass patio doors. The vast majority (over 95%) are known as “flush” handle sets, meaning the locking system is a long rectangle that is set inside the door frame with a latch inside that grasps onto a strike plate on the jamb when you move the tab switch up and down. The good news is, we always carry them because we replace these locks on a daily basis. The bad news is – that’s the only real choice there is because that’s the way the door is meant to lock. We do have some choices in the “pull”, meaning the actual grip you wrap your hand around to open the door. We can match the color of the door or even have some wood accented pulls. The exception to this is The Villages where they do have a few different locking types – but we have them all!
